Vacation Bible School... Day One!!

Thursday morning we hit the road running with a visit to the neighboring barrio to invite children to Vacation Bible School.  You can read more about the barrio we visited here.   Please take the time to follow the link to learn more about the barrio called 'The Hole' and the children that live there.

Heading to the barrio to invite children to Vacation Bible School

A Haitian market we passed on the way to the barrio.

A gentleman walking the streets of the barrio selling fresh fruits and vegetables.

Three VBS stations are set up for the children to rotate through every 40 minutes.  We have a craft station, a game station and story time led by Matthew.  The children are each given different colored yarn bracelets to designate which age group they belong to... there is a great amount of joy and laughter and the children are doing a great job following directions and participating in all the activities.

Through the VBS activities, the children are being told of the last days of Christ... his dying on the cross for their sins and his resurrection from the grave.

Making Friends and Having Fun

Who doesn't love a good game of peek-a-boo?

The team continues to do well and is being blessed many times over by the people of the Dominican Republic and their kindness and love.  We are so thankful that we all serve a lord that is sovereign.  He is as sovereign in the United States as He is in the Dominican Republic and all across the world.

To God Be ALL The Glory.
