Our team was able to tear down a part of the older wall that was cracking and replace it with a new, more stable structure.
The church sits on top of a hill and is supported by concrete and stone retaining walls.
The stone in this area of the retaining wall needed to be chiseled out and removed so a stronger structure could be put into place.
Hauling bags of concrete down the steps of the church.
The concrete was mixed by hand using a shovel and water from a garden hose (and LOTS of muscle).
Josh and Drew know all about teamwork!!!
Wilfred, from the church, places mesh to ready the area for the stone and concrete.
Boys from the barrio join in on the fun.
The stones and concrete are all in place.
Once the concrete dries, the stones are covered with mortar.
Getting ready to set up the barbed wire fence.
Wilfred finishes the barbed wire fence while the guys protect him from falling. Wall complete.
...and just to let you know that everyone is still in one piece and smiling...
To God Be All the Glory
